What a Chooooooooon!!!

Science Tries to explain everything

Wind could have parted Red Sea for Moses

Scientists say they have used computer simulations to show how the parting of the Red Sea could have been caused by strong winds.

The Bibles describes how the waters of the sea parted, allowing Moses and the Israelites to flee their Egyptian pursuers.

US scientists say their simulations show how the movement of wind could have opened up a land bridge at one location.

The researchers say a strong east wind, blowing overnight, could have pushed water back at a bend where an ancient river is believed to have merged with a coastal lagoon.

With the water pushed back into both waterways, a land bridge would have opened at the bend, enabling people to walk across exposed mud flats to safety.

As soon as the wind died down, the waters would have rushed back in.

"The simulations match fairly closely with the account in Exodus," said the study's lead author Carl Drews, from the US National Center for Atmospheric Research.

"The parting of the waters can be understood through fluid dynamics. The wind moves the water in a way that's in accordance with physical laws, creating a safe passage with water on two sides and then abruptly allowing the water to rush back in."

In the Book of Exodus, a mighty east wind blew all night, splitting the waters, after Moses and the fleeing Israelites became trapped between the Pharaoh's advancing chariots and the Red Sea.

The Israelites were able to flee to the other shore. But when the Egyptian Pharaoh's army attempted to pursue them in the morning, the waters rushed back and drowned the soldiers.

Lucky Bastards

Three escape as car is ripped in half

Three young men had a miraculous escape in Germany after their BMW car was literally torn in half when it hit a tree.

An amazed traffic police patrol found the front of the powerful car more than 300ft away from the rear of the vehicle.

But the driver and his two friends walked away with barely a scratch after the 100mph smash on the A7 motorway, near Soltau.

"We thought for certain that we would be dealing with fatalities. All of them are very lucky to have survived such a serious crash," said one officer.

Officers believe the driver lost control of the car which shot off the road and into a tree in a field beside the motorway.

Police are interviewing three men - one aged 20 and two aged 22 - to try to get to the bottom of the cause of the accident.

New Phone Dress??

Dress doubles up as a phone

Basically this is meant to solve all the problems for women on a night out. They won't need anymore hand bags or at least there'll be more room in the bag for other shite. However from the Article below you'll see they haven't said the price and they don't mention how the hell you're gonna charge the bloody thing :)
============================================
A little black dress that doubles up as a functioning mobile phone is to be launched in Britain.

The M-Dress allows wearers to make and receive calls by slipping their sim card under the labe.

Gesture recognition software allows users to pick up a call by raising their hand to their ear and end a conversation by letting it fall to their side.

The M-Dress, designed by the London-based fashion company CuteCircuit, rings when an incoming call is received and different ringtones can be assigned to different numbers.

But the garment can only call a limited number of pre-programmed numbers.

The dress is described as an "elegant silk jersey dress that is also a functional soft electronics mobile phone" and will be released in 2011. Its price remains undisclosed.

The "super-tiny" antenna is stitched into the bottom hem of the knee-length dress.

The CuteCircuit website says: "The M-Dress was designed after our research showed that very often phone calls are missed because mobile phones are quite awkward to carry, especially for women, that have garments with small or no pockets."
