Police officer saved by badge

A Las Vegas police officer who became involved in a late night can thank his badge for saving his life.

The 31-year-old officer, who has not yet been named, was struck by a bullet in an exchange of fire with a suspect.

However, the bullet struck the badge and the officer suffered only minor injuries, reports the Las Vegas Sun.

Police are searching for the gunman, who may also have been hit and who fled after the incident.

The officer had been on patrol in northern Las Vegas when he heard shots coming from an apartment block.

The officer became engaged in the fire fight when he tried to stop the suspect.

Ordeal of human ice cube

A magician is in hospital suffering from severe frostbite after spending more than 64 hours as a human ice cube to break a world endurance record.

Latvian illusionist Gennady Palychevsky, 40, spent 64 hours and 32 minutes in the six foot square ice cube in Moscow before signaling for help.

The event tops American magician David Blaine's 63 hours in ice in New York's Times Square 10 years ago.

Palychevsky - known as Mr Fix - in magic circles - staggered from the ice after his frozen ordeal and was rushed away by paramedics.

Medics say Palychevsky was on the verge of literally freezing to death before he called a halt to the stunt.

Palychevsky - who trained in ice baths for six months - didn't eat or drink while he was sealed inside his ice tomb, broadcast live on Latvian radio throughout the entire stunt.

Timed videos of the event have been sent to Guinness World Records and will be made into a TV documentary later this year.

Update from Feb 10th show :)

Undertaker lifts lid on last requests

An undertaker has lifted the lid on the bizarre last requests of his clients after 50 years in the funeral business.

One 84-year-old widow refused to be buried in the joint graveyard plot her husband had bought before his death, and insisted on being buried with her stuffed pet parrot instead.

And another - reveals Franjo Jozic from Zagreb, Croatia - was buried by her family with her coffin lined in banknotes.

But some requests can never be fulfilled, the 72-year-old explained.

"We get quite a few family members who approach us after a funeral and ask us if we can dig up their relatives to recover jewellery.

"But the strangest was a woman who wanted us to dig up her mother so she could get her artificial hip joint. She said she'd paid for it and she wanted it back," he said.

Five rules for men to follow for a happy life.

1. It's important to have a women who helps at home,
cooks from time to time, cleans up and has a job.

2. It's important to have a woman who can make you laugh.

3. It's important to have a woman who you can trust and
who doesn't lie to you.

4. It's important to have a woman who is good in bed and
who likes to be with you.

5. It's very, very important that these four women do not

McDonald's workers pose for Playboy

Six McDonald's workers have posed for a raunchy Playboy photo-spread.

The magazine's website invited female staff at the fast food giant to enter a competition to find the sexiest McDonald's workers.

Hundreds entered and Playboy whittled them down to six to pose for the sexy shoot on its Playboy.com.

Cristy Creighton, of Louisville, Kentucky, said: "I've heard about Playboy.com doing other 'Women of' pictorials so when I heard they were interested in employees from McDonald's, I knew I wanted to submit my photos.

"The experience of posing for Playboy has been so exciting and I am honored to have been chosen as one of the models for this pictorial."
